Who turns up
Lloyd, licensed Melbourne electrician (REC 32787), and the Lotron crew. Lotron has fitted colour lighting in homes across Melbourne since 2022. Drop sheets go down before anything comes out of the ceiling, dust gets vacuumed as we work, and the mess leaves with us.

What is the Old Lights Back guarantee?
Live with the new lighting for a week. If you do not love it, we come back, put your old lights back in and refund the install. No forms, no arguing.
What exactly do I get for $200?
One LIFX SuperColour smart downlight, supplied and installed by a licensed electrician, your old light replaced at no extra cost, every light paired and set up on site, the ceiling wiped clean and all rubbish taken away. The whole house is done in one day. Count your downlights, multiply by $200, and that is your price for a standard single-storey ceiling.
Will it look tacky?
Not unless you want it to. Warm white is the default and it reads as a normal, high quality downlight. The colour is there when you want it and completely invisible when you do not.
What does "old fittings upgraded free" mean?
Halogens, old LEDs, mismatched fittings: they all come out and go with us. No disposal fee and no charge for the swap. Where your existing holes fit the new fitting we reuse them, so there is nothing to patch.
What is the safety check?
While the circuits are open we check the lighting wiring we are working on, the fittings we replace and the protection on your switchboard, and tell you plainly if anything needs attention. It is included, and you are never obliged to have us fix anything we find.
How long does it take?
Most homes are done in one afternoon. Power goes off circuit by circuit, not the whole house, so you keep the fridge, the wifi and the kettle the entire time.
Do I have to use an app?
No. The lights work from your existing wall switch like normal downlights. The app and voice control are there for the scenes when you want them.
Will it work with Google Home or Alexa?
Yes. The downlights are Matter enabled and work with Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Apple Home and Samsung SmartThings. Tell us which your household uses and we set it up on that.
What if my ceiling is tight, or it is a bathroom?
The recessed fitting needs 75mm of clearance above the ceiling. Where there is not room for that, or in a wet area, we fit a flush IP65 rated unit instead. Tell us in the form and we confirm in the text.
Is $200 a light really the whole price?
For a standard single-storey ceiling with roof access, yes. Double storey, cathedral ceilings, no roof access or packed insulation can take longer and are quoted after you tell us about them, which is exactly why the price comes by text and not from a table.
